Terms and Conditions

Provisional bookings can be made by phone or email but a completed booking form and deposit will be required. Confirmation of the booking by post or email from Long Mynd Walking will constitute a contract between Long Mynd Walking and the client.

Course and Fees
Courses and fees are published on the website. Fees are subject to change from time to time. The fees that apply are those published on the website as at the date of booking, or (if a different fee is agreed for a specific client) as agreed by post or email by Long Mynd Walking.

Alterations to Bookings by Clients
Long Mynd Walking understands that due to unforeseen circumstances clients may need to amend bookings and it will endeavour to accommodate reasonable requests. Long Mynd Walking may charge to the client any costs incurred as a direct or indirect result of course changes resulting from client amendment to a booking.

Cancellation by Clients
Cancellations should be made in writing by post or email and will be acknowledged by Long Mynd Walking. Long Mynd Walking may charge to the client any costs incurred as a direct or indirect result of cancellation of a booking by a client.

Cancellation by Long Mynd Walking
On occasion it may be necessary to cancel courses, walks or other activities due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases alternative dates will be offered or a full refund will be made by Long Mynd Walking. Long Mynd Walking will not pay claims for compensation made against cancellation.

Long Mynd Walking has public liability insurance. A copy of the cover will be supplied on request. Schools and colleges should consult their Local Education Authority as some will insist that they obtain additional insurance cover. In particular, note that in insurance terms, walking is classed as a hazardous activity. If booking as an individual you are advised to take out personal insurance cover for walking or other activities as appropriate.

Long Mynd Walking reserves the right to refuse any unsuitably equipped person participation in an activity. In particular, a waterproof top, trousers and footwear suitable for hill walking will be required.

For Health and Safety reasons Long Mynd Walking will require a declaration of health and fitness to participate in hill walking. An undeclared personal health issue may put a whole group in danger.

Long Mynd Walking reserves the right to refuse a clientís continuing participation on a course or other activity due to conduct that is dangerous or that, in the opinion of the leader of the course or other activity, endangers themselves or others. Clients will be expected to conduct themselves appropriately, complying with The Country Code, the requirements of owners of the land on which the course or other activity takes place, and any instructions given by a Long Mynd Walking leader which is (in the opinion of the leader) in the interests of the Health and Safety of any participant or of the group as a whole.

Long Mynd Walking have advertised courses and fees in good faith and will not be responsible for any misunderstandings on the part of the client. Long Mynd Walking cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to a participantís personal equipment or for equipment belonging to a group. Long Mynd Walking will not accept responsibility for any fatality or injury except where proven in law to be negligent or in breach of contract.

Complaints should be made immediately to Long Mynd Walking so that a solution can be found as soon as possible. Any contractual dispute will be covered by UK law.
